DMs: Mass, Welcome, & 1:1

## Sending a Mass Message 1. **Go to Messages**: Head to the Messages section or tap **+ Create** in the bottom corner of the page next to your avatar. 2. **Select Mass Message**: From here, you can include or exclude memberships, lists, and/or expired memberships (look for the hourglass icon). Use the search bar to find specific lists or memberships. - Want to target fans based on post activity? Add them to a list by going to: - **Analytics** > **Posts** - Select **Add to list** and choose fans who bought, tipped, or liked the post 3. **Compose your message** - Write your message in the Edit Field - Add media by clicking **Upload Media** or **Add from Vault** (highlighted for easy access) - Set fallback names for fans who don't have nicknames: - Click **@TemplateName** or **@DisplayName** and hit the edit icon - Or type **@** and pick from the dropdown list 4. **Adjust advanced settings** (optional) - On the right side, you'll find Advanced Settings: - **Auto Delete**: On by default (38 hours). Customize if needed - **Skip Recent Chats**: On by default (30 minutes). Adjust as needed - Schedule Send and Expire options are also available 5. **Send**: When everything looks good, send your message. ## Mass messages vs. group chats - what's the difference? - A **group chat** on Passes is built for fan-to-fan interaction in a shared space. - A **mass message** lets you reach multiple fans at once, but each one lands as a personal 1:1 message - not a group thread. **A few tips to make them land well:** - Use the fan's name or reference what they did - it feels more personal - Keep messages short and to the point - Spark a conversation by asking a question or pointing to content they'd love - Review and refresh your messages periodically so they stay relevant ## What you can do in 1:1 DMs - **Personalization**: Use variable names to make each message feel tailored - **Media Attachments**: Send videos, images, or audio alongside your message - To control whether fans can send you rich media, go to **Settings** > **Messaging** > **Creator Message Settings** > **Allow message media from fans** - **Analytics**: Track how fans engage with and respond to your messages - **Templates**: Reuse past messages as a starting point for new ones ## Setting up automate messages, visit [Set up Automated Messages](https://help.passes.com/article/6fc1739d-set-up-automated-messages) ## Tips for getting the most out of messaging 1. **Stay engaged**: Use mass messages to connect with fans consistently 2. **Promote your work**: Announce new content, special offers, or upcoming events 3. **Invite feedback**: Ask fans what they think or what they'd like to see next
